My work begins with observation. An eye trained in art history and interior design, driven by images, combinations and detail, everyday and everywhere.
Drawn to glitter, paper, chalk, letters, ribbons, sculptural forms and couture. Versailles, brutalism and softness, gold and pink, black and white.
Fascinated by contrast: the tension between what is raw and what is refined. Strength and delicacy.
Focusing on composition and the combination of things: balance, weight and silence. Stripping things back until only a few forms or details remain; this is where simple things can turn into almost abstract works of art.
